She has a few sniper-friendly skills and it gives you a great overview of the battlefield so you can more easily prioritize either healing teammates or controlling enemies.Throwing out more bullets and doing so faster is something that feeds into her Chain Reaction skill during phase lock, while Flicker boosts elemental effect chance. All together, these three skills, combined with the Cat's huge maximum +138% buff to SMG damage, means that SMGs are the best choice for this kind of build.Generally pet classes excel at solo play, so Gaige or Axton (especially double turret route) can lay a big distraction down. Later on, it becomes a powerful offensive tool for manipulating entire fields of enemies, weakening them and even killing some of them, but in the beginning, it's just very limited Crowd Control. With Maya, I'd say start with the healing tree first, thennn as you get up to in levels you can spread them out. At least with this build I can not worry about my aggro, have my thrall take out groups of weaker enemies all while I regenerate health and shields. I feel like either anarchy Gaige or grog nozzle +whatever salvador is the best for soloing. 400+ stacks of anarchy is more than enough to kill anything in the game, and the grog nozzle makes Salvador very very hard to kill due to ridiculous health regen.
