Daag44. Someone on this forum posted this past 2017/2018 season with an intriguing method of diagnosing a faulty Stator versus a faulty Voltage Regulator/Rectifier. I remember enough of it to work it out, but I'm looking for help to find that post. It had to do with measuring the output of the 3 phases of the Stator while the engine was running.

DooTalk forum automatically copies the whole post, pictures, any previous quoted etc. It is rather annoying acctually. Most web forums don't quote other quotes, or pictures, to save space and loadup time. I have 1997 Grand Touring 583 which likes to foul the PTO side plug. I'll get about 30 km on a plug. Unfortunately, the photo lost a good deal of resolution when it was shrunk to post, note the shape of the electrode in the left photo (used) vs Right (new).The posted photo doesn't quite do it justice as the worn plug was probably 25% less than the new.
