M1a tanker vs socom

Jun 20, 2020 · I have an M1A standard loaded and I’m thinking of trading for a SOCOM 16” but I’ve read mixed reviews on accuracy of the SOCOM. Some say your lucky to get 2” at 100yds and some say theirs is “extremely accurate”. Looking for some honest feedback with someone who has had both and your thoughts?? .

If it's going to be suppressed, the Tanker/Socom models make sense. Not just for the overall length with a can. The thread adapter is also a gas lock, meaning more secure and likely better as far as concentricity. If not suppressed, I'd prefer the Scout. Aftermarket muzzle devices can cut the length down if that's the main concern.I wish the SOCOM model took the same as the others. I'd been keeping my eyes open for a Scout Squad model.....then Palmetto Arms ran a crazy price on this SOCOM model and I jumped on it. I'm not crazy about the camo stock....but have a nice walnut stock on standby. Planning on bedding it and then repeated layers tung oil.
