You connect all your devices into the AV Receiver's HDMI inputs, and you connect the TV to the AV Receiver's HDMI output. All sound goes to the receiver, and video is passed to the TV. The other method is using Arc (or eArc - works the same). The dynamic volume and dynamic EQ sucks. The Sony was so much easier to make sound more pleasing immediately. The Denon room correction was very slow to respond to commands when setting up and then the end result sounded worse than the Sony set up manually. 4K@60Hz is enough for me. I don't plan on using neither 8K, nor 120Hz anytime soon.

Jun 15, 2021 · I’m having a very similar issue. For me, the image clips in and out from the HDR image to black in random 1 to 3 seconds intervals, sometimes shorter, sometimes longer. My devices are connected from Roku Ultra to STR-DH790 to LG OLED C9 via 8k hdmi 16ft and 10ft cables. This only happens when the Roku display is set to Dolby Vision.
