The problem for me is that it encourages players to forget about the objective and focus on people who are being chased. Typically, as a survivor you do gens, cleanse totems or heal others when a different survivor from your group is being chased. With mettle of man requiring so many protection hits, you leave the team vulnerable.Dude it's mettle of man, it takes forever to even get it to work, there are times you can't even get it to activate in a whole game, treat it like Noed, sure, it CAN be extremely useful, but it can also literally do nothing and you're stuck playing 3 perks for a whole game.

Can confirm, after 3 games with this perk, it's bugged. I came back to this game after an extended break, and was excited to use Ash and his perks, and I hadn't known they nerfed this perk into the ground until a friend told me to stop using it and why. I've tried a lot of things to get this perk to work, and rarely does it even give a charge ...Mettle of Man is now pretty much useless unless you plan to regularly body block the Killer or run alongside someone else constantly - and even then, protection scores are really inconsistent. Decisive Strike is still good as an anti-tunneling tool, it's just that its window of use is more limited/narrow.TLDR: Mettle of Man punishes all the wrong killers, and targets the wrong mechanism, basic M1 hits. It is useless against the strongest killers and devastating to those considered lower tier. A much better alternative would resist one-hit down effects, as it targets unfun, hard to counter mechanics and affects far more high tier killers than low.The Build. Breakout (obviously)- This is what you're going to use to get survivors off the killers arms. Mettle Of Man- Most likely, you will need to tank a hit for the survivor. When you tank a hit for a survivor, that counts as a protection hit. That means you can build up mettle of man for future encounters with the killer.
