Smoke composites sent me one of the 12" M-Lok handguards to review. The first thing I noticed was how spectacular this handguard looked. It has a cool, non-symetrical, look to it. Not the standard grid pattern one would expect. I also noticed the quality put into the handguard. But then I picked it up, and wow, it is light.I'm looking for one for the same upper but unfortunately I'm also in need of a DPMS high profile handguard that's 10.5" - 11" MAX! (Or no can)The base of the massive Thunderbeast brake (threaded on M18x1.5 threads) on the 12" 8.6 BLK 1:3 Faxon Big Gunner Barrel is so big as well is the giant can (Thunderbeast Ultra 338 Gen 2) so I'm looking for the same fit as you but MUCH shorter. That is one thing I like about Coda: torquing the barrel nut to spec doesn't impact aligning the handguard. The only issue I have - which is different in the Faxon and Smoke Composites - is there are just thin holes in the carbon fiber with little bolts holding it to the metal mounting ring. Apr 11, 2020 · I have the 17" Faxon Firearms carbon fiber hand guard with a V7 titanium barrel nut. I wish I had gone with the Smoke hand guard at a custom length. The two nut clamp on the Faxon just gets in the way of a mag well grip, but it's just nitpicking. I have the Smoke stock with the closed shoulder, cheek rest, buttpad upgrade, in rifle length.

Feb 1, 2022 · I'm running the handguard and stock on my GMR-15. Handguard was as heavy as the stock barrel nut, so i removed like 11 ozs from the front of the gun. Stock is very adjustable and feels great against the shoulder. I initially had issues with the stock "shortening" as i shot, but once i torqued the screw down further, that fixed the issue.
